On Saturday, September 8, 2007 in Lacey, Washington approximately 2000 people gathered to show their support for military families. The event was sponsored by the Hawks Prairie Rotary Club. All proceeds from the event went to support local military families in need. Over $50000 was raised for the families. Jason Hearn, a candidate for Lacey City Council, and some of his supporters were among the participants.
The Friends Programme is a highly successful, innovative and unique volunteer service designed to work in partnership with professionals to provide volunteer family support to New Communities (Refugees, Asylum Seekers and EU Immigrants) in Coventry.
