The Family Support service was established in September 2004 and during the last two years the National Blind Childrens Society has helped well over a thousand families by offering emotional support, advice, information and practical help at and around the time of diagnosis and at other stages. Friends and the Naperville community are rallying around the injured family of Waubonsie Valley high school senior, Jacquelyn Avila. The 17 year old died last week after her family’s van lost control and hit a parked semi on I57.
